After being reported just some time ago, the latest generation Evora from Lotus has actually come to life. The British company has decided to unleash its latest creation and it is applying the Evora 400 moniker onto the vehicle. In addition to that, the British automaker even goes as far as to refer to the model as the quickest as well as most powerful mass production version Lotus ever.
Taking a look at the official images of the vehicle, it is obvious that the car sports a newly designed front bumper that is now equipped with strips of LED daytime running lights. The car also features larger air intakes compared to the ones on its predecessor, most likely to increase the aerodynamics of the vehicle. As for the headlamps, the design is pretty much similar to that of the predecessor of the model.
At the rear end of the car, the ventilated rear bumper gives an aggressive look. There is also a 3-element wing on the rear, in addition to a sporty rear diffuser. The car can also be seen wearing a pair of redesigned side mirrors as well as 19- or 20-inch forged aluminum wheels that are very light and wrapped in the Pilot Super Sport tires from Michelin, one of the world’s best tire manufacturers ever.
The interior of the vehicle has been treated with a significant redesign. It now comes with an improved instrument panel, redesigned center console and also a new dashboard. Other notable components include a forged magnesium steering wheel featuring a red position stripe, new front seats, better switchgear and also a new vehicle infotainment system.
The car receives its power from a 3.5L V6 supercharged engine that can be mated to either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. The engine has a total power of 400 bhp in addition to 410 Nm of torque. The British company that develops the car also claims that the car can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds and that it has a top speed of 300 km/h. Lotus also unveils that the Evora 400 actually laps the Hethel test track up to 6 seconds quicker than its predecessor does.
The Lotus Evora 400 is scheduled to enter production no later than this summer and it will ship to Europe no later than August this year. Yet, in North America, the car will arrive as a 2016 model at dealerships this fall.
