The 911 GT3 RS from Porsche has now finally made its world premiere at this year’s Geneva Motor Show event. Since there are literally millions of people in the world anticipating for the car’s eventual appearance, this can only be good news. Yet, what does this new vehicle from Porsche actually have to offer?
Well, to begin with, it seems that the luxury German automotive marquee, Porsche, has decided to take advantage of the aluminum material to construct the body of the vehicle. That aluminum body, however, is also put into combination with an engine hood made of the carbon fiber reinforced plastic material. The car also has a wide array of lightweight components used for its construction. As a result, it is 10 kg lighter than the regular variant of the 911 GT3 from Porsche.
Somewhere around the engine lid of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, customers will also be able to see a number of additional coolers. In addition to that, there is also a largely sized rear wing spoiler, a prominently designed front splitter, front wings with air ducts and a ducktail spoiler built in. This is to boost the downforce of the vehicle while running at a high speed.
The car has also been reported to get its power from a naturally aspirated 4.0L 6-cylinder engine. Mated to the company’s improved dual clutch transmission (DCT) system with 7 speeds, the engine boasts a total power output and torque of 500 hp and 460 Nm, respectively. To go from 0 to 100 km/h, a mere 3.3 seconds will be more than sufficient for the vehicle. The top speed of the car, by the way, is rated at 322 km/h.
The interior of the RS variant of the vehicle looks similar to that of the regular variant. Yet, it now comes with stitches painted in the same color as the body. In addition to that, the interior also features an Alcatara leather steering wheel with three spokes and also carbon fiber inserts.
