Honda NSX Goes to Geneva for European Debut

by SpeedLux

The NSX from Honda/Acura had actually made its debut some time ago before the 2015 Geneva Motor Show event started opening its doors to visitors. Yet, the car has not made its debut at the European continent. As such, the Japanese automaker, Honda, sees it a good opportunity to introduce the car at the auto expo in Geneva, Switzerland.

Of course, as you may have expected, the production version of the NSX model that Honda is showing at Geneva is actually the Acura NSX, rebadged. After all, the NSX with the Acura emblem on it is meant for sales in the North American market only. With that being said, both the NSX models from Acura and Honda come with exactly the same powertrain. Speaking of that, the vehicle in question relies on a V6 twin-turbo engine for its mobility. This engine is accompanied by no less than three electric motors and the total power it produces is no less than 550 HP.

In addition to that, the Japanese automaker has equipped this vehicle with its trademark Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel-Drive system. Paired with a 9-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission (DCT) system, the engine sends power to all four wheels of the car. As for the electric motors, two of them are there for the sake of torque vectoring whereas the other one can be found sitting firmly between the transmission and the combustion engine, at the rear end of the vehicle.

The Honda NSX also features Honda’s Integrated Dynamic System that gives driver of the vehicle the freedom to choose any of four driving modes available. These driving modes are Track, Sport+, Sport and Quiet. Each of the settings will differently adjust the chassis, transmission, electric motors, engine and even the sound of the engine. Yet, when the car launches, it uses all three electric motors in combination with the V6 conventional engine to make sure that there is no delay when the driver steps on the gas pedal to launch the car.
