Koenigsegg Plans a 4-Door Model

by SpeedLux

If you remember correctly, the automaker from Sweden, Koenigsegg, has just introduced its latest creation, the Regera ‘megacar’, at this year’s Geneva Motor Show event. Now, reports have emerged indicating that the company in question is likely to come up with another two vehicle models. However, this is not too surprising. What is more surprising, in fact, is that the company is allegedly going to build a vehicle that has not two but four doors altogether, mind you!

As reported by TopGear, quoting Christian von Koenigsegg, the company’s boss, the Swedish automaker actually sees an opportunity to build such a vehicle model. According to its boss, Koenigsegg may actually build a car that has four doors within a 5-years’ time or, better yet, even sooner.

Besides the rumor of the company planning to build a 4-door vehicle model, which has been kind of confirmed, there is also another rumor swirling around the web. Now, this one says that the company is going to build a model that is meant to compete head to head with the likes of the McLaren 650 S, Ferrari 488 GTB and also the Porsche 911. Speaking of this second rumor, the boss of the Swedish automaker firmly declines it. As a matter of fact, the boss even goes as far as to say that for the past few years, the sector where the McLaren 650 S, Ferrari 488 GTB and the Porsche 911 are competing is a sector that Koenigsegg considers as the hornet’s nest. With that being said, Christian von Koenigsegg clearly points out that he wants his company to keep away from that very sector.
