The British automaker, Caterham, has taken the liberty of officially taking the wraps off its new Seven vehicle lineups. It is reported that the British company has even made these new Seven models available for order, at least in its home country in the United Kingdom. There are three new Seven models that Caterham is introducing at the moment and these models bear the 270, 360 and 480 monikers. So, what can these new models possibly offer for their keen buyers?

Well, to begin with, as Caterham puts it, the three new Seven models will provide buyers with accessible fun by means of the lightweight and minimalistic approach typical of the traditional Caterham marquee when it comes to engineering a sports car. It is also said that the three new Caterham Seven models will slot between the Seven 160 and the supercharged 620R. Whereas the Caterham Seven 160 is an entry level model, the supercharged Caterham 620R is the most powerful Seven variant that the British automaker has actually ever made in its long history.

Now, switching back to the new three Seven models from Caterham, the 270 packs a 1.6L engine from Ford under its hood. Mated to a variable valve timing technology, the engine can deliver exactly 135 bhp. In comparison, the 360 hides a 2.0L Duratec engine which also comes from Ford. With this engine, the car can produce a total power output of 180 bhp. Now, last but not least, as for the 480, the car also comes with a 2.0L engine, only this one has been tweaked to deliver 210 bhp in total. The 480 is actually meant to be the successor to the company’s Superlight R400 vehicle model.

In addition to introducing the three new Seven models, the British automaker has also decided to announced not one but two new equipment kits at the same time. Known as the S and R kits, these new equipment kits will be available for customers no matter which vehicle model they actually end up with. According to Caterham, these kits offer such things as leather seats, side and hood screens, full windshield and a full carpet cockpit. Those, however, are for the S kit. Yet, for the R kit, customers will also get sports suspension, limited slip differential and also a race harness with four points.
