For those of you who may have forgotten, the automaker Opel took the veil off its Adam S vehicle model in the Paris Motor Show back in October last year. Back then, the Opel Adam S was probably one of the hottest cars participating in the aforementioned auto expo. Now, however, the company is already introducing another variant of the model, known as the Adam Rocks S. This one will be making its global debut at the upcoming International Amsterdam Motorshow event.
The new car looks more rugged than its older brother, yet, it also receives the identical S treatment. Opel is referring to the petite crossover as ‘anything but cute’. After all, the car comes with a turbocharged 1.4L 4-cylinder ECOTEC engine that spits out 150 HP and 220 Nm of power and torque, respectively. With this engine, accelerating from an idle position to the velocity of 100 km/h takes the car no more than 8.5 seconds. Meanwhile, as for the top speed, the car can reach the figure of 210 km/h. Power is sent to the rear wheels by means of a 6-speed manual transmission.
Opel also unveils that the Adam Rocks S is better than the Adam S in terms of braking since it features the enhanced version of braking system. Yet, if that is not enough, the Opel Adam Rocks S even enables the driver to either turn the ESP on or off as well. And, whenever the driver needs to feel some fresh air flowing into the car, the driver can always electrically retract the canvas roof of the vehicle. Opel is offering the roof of the car in only 5 hues but they can be combined with whatever color the customers want out of 11 body colors in total.
According to reports, the Opel Adam Rocks S will have its global debut on April 17, 2015. That is the date when the International Amsterdam Motorshow (AutoRAI) will be welcoming the public in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
