Earlier this year, in January, the Swedish automaker, Volvo, made an official announcement that hinted at an imminent arrival of its latest SUV model, the XC90 Excellence. This is not just an SUV as it features a host of luxurious amenities that customers may possibly never find elsewhere, at least within the near future.
From the outside, however, the car may look just usual due to its identical look to that of the Swedish automaker’s regular 2nd generation XC90 model. Yet, when you take a closer look at the new SUV, it is only then that you will notice the existence of a special chrome trim visible on both the C and B pillars of the vehicle. Of course, the changes are not visible only outside but also inside the vehicle.
Stepping into the cabin, customers will be greeted with a new seating configuration. Unlike in the previous model where customers can find five seats, the cabin of the vehicle now features four seats, complete with two individual seats at the rear compartment. These seats are also equipped with ventilation and massaging functions. In addition, the rear seat passengers can now even feel more relaxed, thanks to the additional legroom. And, if that is not enough, they are now treated with a touchscreen display panel as well that controls numerous functions of the vehicle. A refrigerator, cooled and heated cup holders, folding tables and even handmade glasses made of crystal are all available as well. For the crystal glasses, by the way, they are made by a Swedish company, the Orrefors, a company that shares its homeland with Volvo.
The Volvo XC90 Excellence luxury SUV is also equipped with auxiliary noise insulating components as well as noise canceling tires from Pirelli. This makes sure that the cabin stays quiet. In addition, the integrated ionic air cleaning system keeps the air inside the vehicle fresh. For audiophiles, they will be more than happy to enjoy the audio produced by the Bowers & Wilkins audio system that features no less than 19 speakers in total. Last but not least, the luxury Swedish SUV is also coming with auxiliary leather trimmings as well as ambient lighting.
The Volvo XC90 Excellence SUV is expected to have its world premiere this year during the upcoming Shanghai Motor Show event in Shanghai, China. The car will then go on sale later this year in a few select markets in the world.
