Bugatti Chiron teased prior to Geneva Motor Show

by SpeedLux

Bugatti has unveiled a teaser image of its future Veyron replacement, the Chiron, before its public reveal at the Geneva motor show, next year. The official teaser picture previews the car under covers.

Named after Louis Chiron, who was a former racing driver for the company in the 1920s – 30s, the new car draws styling details from the Vision Gran Turismo concept that was unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt motor show. Pictures of test mules have previewed styling elements inspired from the concept, such as thinner LED headlight clusters, a better prominent front grille and flatter bonnet.

Though no information as to the new car’s powertrain were told about, Wolfgang Dürheimer, Bugatti’s president, stated: “The making of the Chiron can be summarised in one sentence, which is indeed the shortest in the history of the car: We want to make the best significantly better. The Chiron will set new formations in every respect. We will continue to create the world’s most powerful, fastest, luxurious and most exclusive production super sportscar. This is the statement of Bugatti and our customers.”

Bugatti is noted to have showcased the Chiron to prospective purchases, and is considered to have received orders for 100 units of the auto.
