Ford shuts down F-150 manufacturing at Claycomo plant this week

Ford‘s Claycomo plant has stopped production for one week on its known F-150 pickup trucks, a move that idles over 4,500 employees.

The company informed employees not to come to the plant because of a mechanical problem inside the body and paint stores.

Ford stated the mechanical problems have actually hindered the plant’s capability to reach its production targets, so it’s shutting down the line to fix it.

The company stated it’s just moving up a down week that had previously been set up for the fall. It hopes the work done on the plant will work out bugs and increase production.

In 2015, Ford sold almost 800,000 F-series pickup, making it the nation’s bestselling automobile.

The shutdown just involves the part of the plant that makes F-150 trucks. Ford’s Transit van is likewise developed at the Claycomo plant.
