Chevrolet Cruze Recalled Due To Faulty Ignition System

General Motors India has released a voluntary item recall for a limited series of its Chevrolet Cruze where some cars have experienced loss of ignition or engine stall at low automobile speeds. The recall affects Chevrolet Cruze cars made between model years 2009-2011.

The examination and recommended repairs or replacement are estimated to take no greater than one hour and impacted Chevrolet Cruze customers will be asked to take their vehicles to their nearby Chevrolet service dealership for evaluation with a prior appointment.

“This is a voluntary recall and, as far as we understand, does not impact the safety of the vehicle however we want to ensure that our customers experience the ideal performance from their cars”, stated Markus Sternberg, Vice President (Aftersales), General Motors India.

The company stated that it is working carefully with its service network to make the entire evaluation and correction exercise as smooth as possible with an alternative of pick up and drop to a residential address. The American automaker has asked customers to contact their nearest Chevrolet car dealership and schedule a visit for automobile inspection and correction. The afflicted vehicles will be fixed free of charge at the GMI service centers throughout the country.
