After years of merely purchasing hybrid technology from Toyota, Nissan is now introducing its own compact hybrid. Watch the 2017 Nissan Versa Note hybrid e-POWER. Utilizing a 1.2 liter gas three-cylinder as a generator for its electric battery, the brand-new Versa Note series hybrid benefits 87.4 MPG.

The battery back in the Nissan Versa hybrid e-POWER is apparently only 1/20th the size of the one discovered in the most recent Nissan Leaf. With the 3 cyl. humming along, although, the smaller sized battery can keep sufficient power to keep the little automobile moving on. And, considering that the battery is so little, it does not horn in the traveler compartment or compromise rear seat leg space.

There’s no word yet on what sort of velocity and efficiency figures we can anticipate from the new-for-2017 Nissan Versa hybrid. Still, here’s hoping the automobile has more in common with its sharp-handling and sport Versa Keep in mind SR siblings, and less with the base design.

You can see Nissan’s own marketing video describing the extremely Chevy Volt-like e-POWER tech, added below.
