Alfa Romeo Giulietta – Photos and Info

by Site Default

Alfa Romeo fitted their six-speed dual-clutch transmission (previously only available for the Mito) on a new vehicle. The result: an all-new Alfa Romeo Giulietta.

The Giulietta comes with two engine options: a 1.4-liter Multiair 1.4-liter gasoline one (which also comes in multiple variants, with a power output ranging between 135 horsepower and 170 horsepower), and a 2.0 JTDM-2 engine producing 140 horsepower, which has a fuel consumption of 62mpg (wow!).

The standard version is the 1.4-liter four-cylinder turbocharged 168 horsepower gasoline engine that also delivers 184 lb-ft of torque at 2500rpm. This gets the car running at a top speed of 135 mph, and gives it an acceleration from 0 to 60 in 7.6 seconds.

The dual clutch automatic transmission also has a significant role, apparently. It manages to reduce the time of acceleration to 60 by 0.1 seconds, and also increases the fuel economy.

According to Alfa Romeo, there will be plenty of room for the 5 comfortable seats fitted on the Giulietta, all because of the size of the car, which is 4.35 meters long, 1.46 meters high and 1.80 meters wide, with a wheelbase of 2.63 meters (that makes for plenty of interior room). Thanks to the highly capable suspension and the very effective sound insulation, the passengers get to be almost completely undisturbed by the exterior world.

The price of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta starts at  $33,000.
