It seems that Audi, a luxury automaker from Germany, is never tired of innovating from time to time. Believe it or not, the company has now officially disclosed to the public that it will be utilizing the recently trending virtual reality technology whenever its customers are keen on buying its vehicle lineups. The German company claims that this will give the customers stunningly realistic view of the vehicles that the customers are thinking about buying. This way, customers won’t be disappointed after spending their cash and more importantly, the company will not have to spend any time and resources to build a car that the customers do not really want in the end.
The luxury German automaker is calling its new program the Audi VR Experience and with this program, future Audi branded vehicle buyers will have the ability to configure all the vehicle lineups from the company. Using the virtual environment, buyers will be able to choose whatever combination they wish to have available on their final vehicle product.
Of course, in order to make things possible, buyers will first have to put on a virtual reality headset. In addition to that, the customers will also be required to put on a pair of headphones from Bang and Olufsen. These headphones will replicate all sounds that the customers may encounter with their final vehicle, such as, the sound of the vehicle doors opening and closing and even the sound of Audi’s Advanced Sound System which comes with 14 speakers altogether.
Luca de Meo, the sales and marketing chief at Audi, points out that the company is working together with its dealers worldwide in order to bring the technology before the customers. He also claims that with this technology, Audi has once again pioneered in the automotive industry.
