Autonomous car start-up Zoox hires former Ferrari official Lanzone

Autonomous vehicle start-up Zoox stated Corrado Lanzone, formerly worked as operations director of Ferrari SpA racing division, has joined the California-based business as its vice president of manufacturing operations.

Lanzone signs up with Zoox after a two-decade career at Scuderia Ferrari, where he supervised production, purchasing, quality assurance and handled relationships with over 100 Tier-1 suppliers, the Silicon Valley company stated.

He also contributed to a group that won 8 “World Constructorss’ Champions” and six “World Drivers’ Championships,” the greatest awards in Formula One.

Zoox said Lanzone’s proficiency would assist the company “perform on our ambition to provide autonomous movement, without compromise.”

This is the 2nd noteworthy executive announcement by Zoox after the hiring of former top U.S. safety regulator Mark Rosekind, who joined the automobile start-up as its chief safety innovation officer previous month.
