BMW unveils hardcore M3 GTS for track enthusiasts

by Alex

BMW M3 GTSM3 GTS is the pure performance machine. Under the hood is a 4.4-liter V8 that packs 450 horsepower, with power sent to rear wheels via 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

This hardcore M3 weighs just 1490 kg (3285 lbs), which is 190 kg (419 lbs) less than the stock M3 Coupe.

Exterior highlights are an orange paint job, exclusive 19-inch wheels, new front splitter and a huge rear wing. Inside you’ll see lightweight bucket seats, roll cage, cut-off switch in case of emergency and a fire extinguisher.

There are now comfort features like radio and conditioner as the car is meant to be as light as possible.

BMW M-Division says, that the aim is to clearly beat the lap time of the legendary M3 CSL on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. And test runs certainly give grounds for optimism.

M3 GTS is a performance car built for the race track, but still street legal. Pricing starts at 115,000 Euros and first deliveries will start in Germany next May.
