Fiat Chrysler recalls trucks, cars to repair alternator problem

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV informed that it is recalling about 74,833 automobiles in the United States to change the alternators because of a issue that could result in engine stall or a automobile fire.

FCA United States LLC, Fiat’s U.S. arm, stated on Tuesday that certain generators might have problems with the diodes, which might cause a short-circuit in the alternators and might result in engine stall or vehicle fire.

The automaker said it knew a single potentially associated injury, however no accidents.

FCA stated it is also recalling 10,077 automobiles in Canada, 1,088 in Mexico and 134 outdoors North American.

Automobiles impacted are specific 2007-2013 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups; 3500, 4500 and 5500 chassis cabs; and 2011-2014 Dodge Charger Pursuits, the automaker stated.
