Japan is preparing to use flying cars to transport attendees during the 2025 World Expo that will take place in Osaka.

The vehicles are going to carry visitors between the artificial island of Yumeshima, which is set to host the Osaka Expo, and nearby locations including Kansai International Airport and Kobe Airport.

The goal is to provide views of the Kansai area and the Seto Inland Sea and also increase the prominence of flying cars across Japan.

Flying cars, halfway between a drone and a helicopter, are capable of taking off and landing vertically and are electrically powered.

A special port for flying cars is expected to be installed to the west of the expo venue on Yumeshima. It will be capable of handling around 20 takeoffs and landings every hour.

Flying cars will be showcased in the venue, giving many visitors an opportunity to learn about such vehicles.
