by SpeedLux

Google has a complete vehicle infotainment operating system on display at I/O.

We have actually long heard reports of such a job and have identified recommendations to “Android Automotive” in Google’s compatibility files, however a car-focused version of Android is now silently sitting in the back corner of Google I/O.

Previous types of Google vehicle computing was available in the kind of Android Automobile, which was a casted interface that was beamed from a phone to a vehicle screen. The car still ran some kind of host operating system, however that OS would move out of the method and let the Android phone use the integrated screen like an external screen. On the other hand, this is a complete operating system that works directly on the vehicle hardware. The automobile variant of Android does not actually have a relase date, or perhaps an unique name–“cars” are now just a supported factor in Android N.
