Google’s Self-Driving Cars Nearly Come True

by SpeedLux

In May 2014, the world’s largest search engine company, Google, introduced what would be known as a self-driving or autonomous car. These cars did not have any pedals and steering wheels or even other features that people would normally find in a conventional car. However, as of then, the product was still far from completion. Only recently, however, the search engine giant has again introduced another prototype of these autonomous vehicles. This time, the company claims that this prototype will be very much alike the final version.

With the latest prototype, the search engine company in question has included every single thing that it has been putting under evaluations throughout the year. This time, the company’s autonomous car does feature a steering wheel and a set of pedals like those found in a conventional car. Thanks to these elements, the driver in charge of testing the vehicle will be able to intervene should something go wrong with the system. In addition to that, the vehicle also comes equipped with properly working headlamps.

However, the car still comes with complex sensory and automated computer systems so as to achieve its goal of becoming a completely autonomous vehicle. This, after all, has always been the focus of the developers at Google who are in charge of the development of the company’s self-driving car project.

There are actually dozens of benefits that customers can expect to get from such an autonomous vehicle. For a start, when the vehicle finally becomes available in the foreseeable future, even those with impaired eyesight will have the chance to drive their very own car. All that these people with eyesight impairment will have to do is simply to get onto the car and speak out their destination to the onboard computer built into the vehicle. Yes, the future is coming, baby!
