Hyundai Hires Chief BMW M Engineer

by SpeedLux

For those of you BMW fans out there, there may be disappointment for you in the air. No offense, but the luxury German automaker may potentially be losing its teeth in the automotive industry if the current trend goes on. Thing is, the people who play a vital role in the company keep on leaving from the company for another company. If you remember correctly, some time ago, the German automaker’s design chief was recruited by Hyundai/Kia. Well, it seems that the South Korean company has yet to be satisfied.

As reported by Reuters, the Hyundai Motor Group has proudly announced that it has signed an agreement with Albert Biermann, the person who was previously in charge of the engineering system applied onto BMW M series vehicles. Hyundai claims that this is to help the company in its quest to develop high performance vehicle lineups.

Biermann will have a very critical position at the South Korean company. He will act as the company’s vice executive president and will sign in to work for the company starting from April next year. The ex-chief engineer at the BMW M division will be put in charge of monitoring not only the development process but also the evaluation process of future Hyundai models with high performance.

As of the moment, the South Korean company is not yet willing to share more details in regards to its contract with Biermann. However, the company claims that by hiring Biermann, it will have better odds of facing the tight competition brought by premium automakers from Europe like BMW.

Last but not least, to conclude, the South Korean automaker claims that Biermann will make it possible for the company to have cars that have an emotional driving experience as well as more advanced steering system, things that the company may still be striving to acquire for its vehicle lineups.
