Jaguar XK Coupe facelift to be ready by 2012

by Alex

A facelifted version of the Jaguar XK would be out in the year 2012 while the next generation of the Jaguar XK is expected in 2014. The updates that are expected would be on both the exterior as well as the interior. There is the possibility of a new V6 engine being fitted to the face lifted version along with a new transmission system.

For exterior changes in the XK that would be included in the face lifting package is a bumper with extra cooling vents. There would be new headlamps with LED lights and a new bumper and diffuser. The rear wing would also be a new one while the interior of the Jaguar would get higher quality material and technology updates too.

The present 5 liter V8 engine would continue to be used in both the naturally aspirated configuration that gives 385 HP and 380 lb ft of torque and the supercharged version which delivers 510 HP for the XKR version. There is also the option of going for a new 3.0 liter V6 engine in both diesel as well as petrol version. There is also the possibility of a new eight speed gear box being added to the package for giving better fuel consumption.
