Lamborghini to focus on naturally-aspirated engines, Urus to be ‘game changer’

by SpeedLux

CEO of Lamborghini, Stephan Winkelmann, recently announced that the company will continue to focus exclusively on naturally-aspirated engines.

While giving an interview to Motor Trend, Winkelmann said that the company will find the right time to come up with a hybrid car. He also admitted that they could simply borrow technology from the Volkswagen Group but as of now they want to continue developing naturally-aspirated engines.

He further asserted that the Urus which is due in 2017 would be a game changer and it is going to make a difference but till then it would be a little difficult and they will have to work very hard for the new model.

As of now there aren’t any plans for a dual-clutch gearbox so the company will be sticking with the Independent Shifting Rods (ISR) since they believe it the best in terms of speed and weight. The executive said that the future models will take styling cues from current and previous designs as they believe that a Lamborghini has to be always recognizable and revolutionary at the same time.
