Lamborghini to give up manual gearbox with stripped-down, rear-wheel drive final Gallardo

by SpeedLux

Lamborghini recently confirmed a last “back-to-basics stripped version” Gallardo and the biggest thing is that it will not come with the manual transmission.

Lamborghini of America chief operating officer Michael Lock stated in one of the interviews that the last hurrah for the aging Gallardo will also be the end of the line for the stick because according to him there is no market left for the manual gearbox. The other change that Gallardo will feature includes a rear-wheel drive layout and will be lighter in weight thanks to a stripped cabin.

Talking about the replacement of this legendary car, Lock stated that the same is expected to make an appearance before the end of the year. He also stated that the replacement will retain Lamborghini’s spectacular styling and that too in such a way that it will be sold in the volume of the Gallardo.

We will have to say it is a bold decision and it will create a lot of excitement among the car lovers. The excitement would be not only for the legendary Gallardo but also for the car that would be appearing as a replacement to this best-selling nameplate for the Italian marquee till date.
