Lincoln showcases 2011 MKZ Hybrid in New York, hits 41 mpg during city driving

by SpeedLux

The Lincoln MKZ will be utilizing Ford Motors new hybrid powerplant following the paths of the Mercury Milan and the Ford Fusion. The car has a 2.5L 4-cylinder Atkinson cycle engine that works in combo with an electric motor to give out 191 horsepower.
The first ever hybrid unit of the Lincoln fleet is expected to return a fuel mileage of 41 mpg while snaking through the city streets. Switching to pure electric mode, the car can cruise on a decent 47 mph or 75 km/hr.

The American car manufacturer wants to stress that the figures of the Lincoln MKZ are a lot better than its closest competition the HS 250h from Japanese luxury brand Lexus which has a 25 mph performance in battery-only configuration and has a fuel mileage of 35 mpg in the city.

The Lincoln MKZ will go on sale this fall in the United States.
