McLaren 675LT Spider sold out, McLaren building more of them

The McLaren 675LT Spider was sold out simply weeks after the automaker verified its presence last December, and a number of months before the public was even able to see the automobile.

The company’s only making 500 of these, and with all them currently promoted many of McLaren’s clients were left dissatisfied.

Now, the Woking, is making 25 limited edition MSO Carbon Edition 675LT Spiders for those buyers who missed the opportunity to buy the model

Although the “standard” 675LT Spider is developed around a carbon fiber tub with carbon fiber body panels, the MSO automobiles have 40% more carbon fiber elements.

At $515,000, the Carbon edition automobiles bring $140,000 in carbon fiber upgrades, consisting of exposed, matching carbon fiber weave on all external panels. Likewise carbon fiber are the car’s retractable convertible tough top and tonneau covers.

Known for its amazing strength and light weight, carbon fiber has ended up being the material of choice for supercar developers.

It was McLaren that truly put the product on the map. 35 years earlier, the company helped leader the technology in its championship-winning Formula One cars. And 25 years earlier, in its ground-breaking, 240-mph McLaren F1 hypercar.

McLaren anticipates to start consumer deliveries of the MSO Carbon 675LT Spider by the end of this year.
