Michigan and Tesla reach agreement for direct car delivery

Tesla Inc has reached a settlement with Michigan to permit the electric automaker to directly deliver its vehicles to consumers in the state, a person knowledgeable with the agreement stated on Tuesday.

The company will be able to provide vehicles within Michigan, but will have to issue titles for the vehicles in another state, which the consumer can then transfer to Michigan, the person informed.

Tesla took legal action against Michigan officials in 2016 after the state rejected to permit the automaker to sell vehicles directly to consumers instead of through franchised dealerships.
