Internet is today agog with the new Audi A7 sportback images. The car is making its debut at the sport Saloon scheduled on Monday. Photograph received indicates that the car is indeed sticking to its features and design as depicted when its concept model was displayed at the Detroit Show held in 2009.
There are differences however from the concept cars looks. Thankfully that’s confined to minor details like the shape and size of the exterior mirrors. There is also some difference in the air inlets which are fixed on the front bumper. There is a rear hatch to the car as well which comes with a five door body style.
Changes from the concept as far as interior goes remains restricted to the colors and the decorative trim. The car, the A7 Sportback as far as information held at present goes would be able to seat four passenger while having an overall length of just a shade below 5 meter.
The A7 could be called a heavier brother of the A5 Sportback in mechanical terms. It is expected to be offered in both the diesel as well as gasoline V6 engine versions. The engine would include the new 3.0-liter TSI unit with a power output of 290 hp. It would be available in the all wheel drive system and for transmission duties, it will have the S-tronic dual clutch system.
For sure the company would be coming out with the S7 and RS7 variants as well as the hybrid version very soon.
The present car in discussion would be slotted between the A6 and A8 executive saloon. The competitors for the car would be the new Mercedes-Benz CLS and the BMW 5-Series GT. That’s of course until the Gran coupe from BMW makes its entry.
