New Skoda to come with more leg, head room than Laura

Skoda has showcased its all new Skoda Octavia. It is learned the new model is more spacious than its predecessor Laura. The car is 1782 mm long in interior and offers more leg and knee space as well as head room.

CarTrade.com reports the Skoda Octavia is based on the stretched model of Volkswagen‘s new MQB platform. It is 4659 mm, 90 mm longer than Laura. It is even more stretched than the best in the class Volkswagen Jetta.

Octavia got cleaner interior in terms of design cues compared to Laura. The waste bins in the doors have been given more thougtful touches and the boot floor is now more improved with rubber on one side and carpet on the other.

Technological features have become more hi-tech this time with touchscreen multimedia system, pop-up bonnet, keyless entry, lane departure warning system and few more interesting ones.

News by way several media suggests the company may also come up with ‘proper hatchback’ model of it in near future and it is expected to have a more “Golf-like” rear end, targeting good potential market in western Europe to compete with the sedan counterparts there.
