Peugeot Onyx Concept Revealed in Paris

As we all know that Peugeot brand is in crisis these days, and because of that they really wanted to come up in the market to survive again so they were planning to make a debut of Onyx concept. And finally here they are, they revealed the Onyx Concept, at the Paris Motor Show. Maxime Picat Boss of Peugeot said that “We’re adding emotion to our brand and will emerge stronger from this crisis”.

About the car

The doors and wings are hand made,from a copper foil, while most of the other panels are constructed from carbon fiber. The roof and windows are made available from a lightweight acrylic, with that they had in thier minds to come out with a Super Light wieght Vehicle. The Onyx weighs at just 1100 kg (2425 lbs) and has a length of 4650mm, width of 2200mm and it stands tall at 1130mm.

This super power is granted by the 3.7-liter V8 engine which generates hybrid HDi FAP (‘Filtre a Particule’-particulate filter) 600 bhp (447 kW), which is linked to a sequential 6 speed gearbox. A highlight over here is that, Onyx features a kinetic energy recovery system, which can channel the energy of braking lithium-ion batteries and then automatically it discharges the gathered enerygy, providing an extra 80 hp (60 kW).

Emotion is the key element for the Peugeot brand. We all have a burning desire to see the brand new car from the french makers, soon on roads. It is going to be a spectacular and adorable model for all the customers.
