Special Edition Camry and Corolla Roll Out Just in Time for Chicago

by SpeedLux

It is now official that Toyota, one of the bestselling automakers in the world from Japan, will be bringing its 2016 Avalon to the upcoming Chicago Auto Show event. Yet, it seems that the Avalon will not be the only vehicle model that the company will be unveiling at the aforementioned auto expo. If the most recent reports are to be believed, the company is also going to bring the special edition Camry and Corolla to the expo. After all, Toyota has actually unveiled both models, just in time for the expo.

Well, let’s start with the Toyota Corolla Special Edition. This one is going to utilize the platform of the S Plus trim, yet with 17-inch bespoke wheels featuring a glossy black finish. In addition to that, the car will also feature a black interior combined with red stitches as well as red-accented door trims and dashboard. Unique floor mats are also to be expected here, along with Toyota’s Smart Key System that enables owners of the vehicle to start the engine just with the press of a button. Color choices for the body of the vehicle include Black Sand Pearl, Super White and Absolutely Red.

For customers that do not mind spending a little more money, they will also be eligible for extra luxury amenities, including the Entune premium audio system with app and navigation suites and an electronically tilting moonroof. Toyota claims that 8,000 examples will be available for sale from August to December 2015.

Now, let’s take a look at the Toyota Camry Special Edition. Based on the SE trim, this special edition Camry is going to sport smoked taillights, 18-inch bespoke alloy wheels with a 2-tone color, electronically tilting moonroof and two color options, which are, Blizzard Pearl and Blue Streak Metallic. On the interior, the car gets treated with special floor mats, highly contrasting blue stitches, sport seats with blue patterned inserts as well as black SofTex bolsters, Smart Key System, Entune Audio Plus, Entune Premium Audio with app and navigation suites just like the one on the special edition Corolla, a sport meter cluster featuring blue details on a white background and also a Qi wireless charging system.

According to Toyota, customers will be able to expect approximately 12,000 examples of Camry Special Edition from August this year to January next year. In addition to that, the Japanese automaker also claims that all vehicles will get their power from a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine that is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. This should give the vehicles mentioned above a total power of 178 bhp.
