Tesla Model S is practically the bestselling electric vehicle (EV) in the US. Now, the US automaker has decided to bring the rumored Model X to life. Recently, someone had managed to capture several images that seemed to depict the company’s Model X EV. When it was spotted, the car was likely undergoing its Californian factory test.
Running entirely on electric power, the car in the images looks like it is actually nearing completion. After all, the car is only camouflaged on its headlamps and taillights. Yet, for some unknown reasons, the automaker has decided to tape some parts of the car windows.
Rumor has it the Tesla Model X will come in the form of a crossover. The car will reportedly make its debut before the end of this year itself. The US automaker claims that its upcoming vehicle model will actually offer customers with the functionality and space of a sport utility vehicle (SUV). In addition to that, the car is going to be able to seat up to seven adult passengers altogether and that no other EVs out there will be able to rival its performance. Yet again, this is what Tesla says, whether it is true or not remains to be seen.
The upcoming Model X will take advantage of the battery that is also used on the Tesla Model S. This means customers can expect 60 and 85kWh variants, which come with 380 hp of total power output, and 85kWh Performance variant, which offers 691 hp of power.
It is also reported that the Tesla Model X will be coming with the falcon wing doors shown on the concept version of the vehicle. This, Tesla claims, will make it easier for passengers to get into the seats at the third row, even if the car is being parked at a very narrow space.
