The Japanese car maker, Toyota, is a market leader when it comes to creating hybrid vehicles and Prius is a brand of Toyota which is synonym to instant success for any Toyota car. The popularity is evident from the fact that all the models under the name Prius were among the most popular models sold in California in the previous year 2012.

For the entire year 2012, altogether 61,893 Prius, Prius v, Prius Plug-in and Prius c models were sold in California and as per Toyota, this makes Prius numero uno vehicle badge sold.

Bill Fay, Group Vice President and General Manager of Toyota Motor Sales, Inc. attributed the success of Prius to its fuel efficiency. The company has even justified the efficiency with the test conducted by editors of Cleanmpg.com.
