Two dead after car crash in Litchfield Township, Ohio

Two people died following a two-vehicle crash on Thursday on state Route 83 and West Smith Road in Litchfield Township, Medina County, Ohio.

Both victims were from North Ridgeville.

A car being driven by 80-year-old identified as Carole Metzger of North Ridgeville was heading west on W. Smith Road when it couldn’t find the right of way to a tractor-trailer going south on state Route 83.

Metzger was airlifted to the hospital from the scene with serious injuries while the passengers, identified as Enid Liscio, 79, and Elaine Klepek, 80, both of North Ridgeville, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, identified as Richard Warner of West Salem, was not hurt.

The crash remains under investigation as it is yet to be known that what caused the crash.
