Two dead, one injured after single-vehicle crash on I-59 near Collinsville

Two people were killed and one infant was injured following a single-vehicle crash on Monday afternoon on I-59, near Collinsville.

The crash took place when the van the 19-year-old victim was driving left the road and struck a tree. The teen was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 20-year-old passenger of the van identified as Michekyla J. Fairley from Wilmington was also pronounced dead at the scene.

An infant was admitted to the hospital for treatment.

Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) is investigating the crash.
