Video: Autocar drives Nick Mason’s McLaren F1 GTR

by Ionut Dragomir

McLaren F1 GTRPink Floyd’s drummer Nick Mason is a lucky owner of a very rare McLaren F1 GTR. Only 28 were built and Nick owns chassis number 10.

The car started its life as a Le Mans racer, but was later converted back to a street legal supercar.

Autocar’s Steve Sutcliffe was luckier than most guys in the world as he got to drive this iconic supercar from the 90s. The F1 GTR uses the same mid-mounted 627 horsepower V12 by BMW M division as the regular McLaren F1. Difference is that it is about 400 pounds lighter and has shorter gears.

Just a reminder that out of 64 were regular F1s, 5 were F1 LMs and two were street-legal F1 GTs.
