Volkswagen Polo R prototype has 250 HP, could go into production – report

by SpeedLux

We know that rumors about a Volkswagen Polo R have been doing rounds for many years now, but a recently Autobild was given a chance to drive this prototype.

Slated to slot above the Polo R WRC Street, the Polo R prototype comes fitted with a turbo charged 2.0-liter engine that is able to generate an output of 250 HP (184 kW). This enables the all-wheel drive model to achieve the acceleration from 0-100 kmph (0-62 mph) in less than six seconds and will be able to hit a top speed of just under 250 kmph (155 mph).

On the basis of this report, everything sounds quite promising, but the biggest question remains if the model will actually go into production as the company has not given any clarity on the same as of yet. We do feel that it will be possible for the model to enter production phase but we also feel that Audi would not be too happy about a Polo R that is more powerful than their S1.

Well only time will tell about the future of the model till then just enjoy this cool prototype of Polo R.
