2 dead, 4 injured after car crash on Highway 10, Minnesota

Two people in a car died in a crash on Highway 10 in central Minnesota at 10:49 a.m. Saturday.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a family of four people from Webster City, Iowa, was traveling northbound on Highway 10 in Little Falls Township.

The driver of a Buick Encore tried to cross the highway going eastbound from the median at 113th Street. 

The Buick was hit on the passenger side by the front end of the Lincoln Navigator of Iowa family.

Those who died in the crash were the female driver and male passenger in the Buick. The female driver has been identified as 85-year-old Margaret Caroline Schmitz and the passenger is identified as 46-year-old Loren Michael Schmitz.

Both are from Pierz. 

The four people in the Navigator, a 37-year-old man, a 38-year-old woman, and two boys aged 11 and 9.

They all suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were admitted to St. Gabriel’s Hospital.
