The new 2012 Hyundai Azera

by Alex

Car companies all around the world are increasingly looking at small midsize models to enhance productivity while terms like high performance, fuel economy, and overall value are becoming the buzzwords these days. They are gaining more and more significance than ever before and is perhaps because the affordable large car segment is getting just a little over-crowded and has started witnessing congestion.

In the recent past, automobile entrants from South Korea have started to receive great deal of accolades. South Korea’s latest additions to this segment like the Hyundai Genesis along with the lately uncovered Kia Cadenza appear to have set the trend. The new Hyundai looks are set to continue this trend by replenishment of its senescent Azera sedan. The sedan would be designed and devised to encounter the Germans with a spectacular new look on their own ground. The vehicle is jam-packed with technology and striking inside features.

The current Azera was first made known to the public earlier dating back in 2005. The vehicle was marketed as the Grandeur in other automobile markets. Since then, the vehicle has passed through only one update of greater seriousness. The new 2012 model of Azera, which is currently being tested in prototype form, is likely to make its first public appearance in late 2011 replacing the current version. The new model would have, by the looks of the vehicle, grown substantially at the time of its debut.

The 2012 Hyundai Azera, it is believed by automobile experts, would be rolled out with two different V-6 engines. The first engine would be a 3.8 liter Lambda unit churning out a total of 305 HP on tap while the second engine option would be a relatively smaller 3.3-liter mill that is already being sold overseas. This feature positions the Hyundai Azera between the Sonata and the Genesis. The sedan’s engine would be attached to a six speed automatic transmission gear box that also has the capability of being used in pseudo manual mode. This transmission unit shall be deployed as a standard across the Hyundai Azera range of vehicles.
