2013 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid proves to be efficient

by SpeedLux

Having similar looks when compared to the 2012 model, the 2013 Sonata Hybrid was revealed by Hyundai America recently.

The model bears a more efficient electric motor and slight changes to the battery. The Sonata is now equipped with a 47-hp electric motor and a 10.5 kW Hybrid Starter Generator. The 2.4-litre 4-cylinder gaser has also been slightly altered to make it more reasonable.

Hyundai has worked on its battery technology to improve it since the Sonata Hybrid was introduced and the 2013 model is fitted with a sleek improved lithium polymer battery pack which stores more energy. As a result the shaft space has increased by about 40 liters.

The end result of all these modifications has reflected in reduced fuel consumption of 36 mpg city / 40 mpg highway / 38 mpg combined, representing improvements of 2 mpg city / 1 mpg highway / 2 mpg combined respectively.

So we can finally say that the Hyundai Sonata is really a efficient car and it has proved a point or two for itself.
