2014 Euro-spec Jeep Compass to make Geneva debut

by SpeedLux

Jeep has made public its plans to bring the Euro-spec 2014 Compass to next week’s Geneva Motor Show.

Appearing almost similar to its American counterpart, the European version of the 2014 Jeep Compass will be put on block within couple of months time. It will be sold in three trim levels: Sport, Limited and the new North version.

The vehicle will be lucky enough to have a new 6-speed PowerTech automatic transmission, ParkView backup camera and side air bags mounted in the front seats. Standard facilities include fog lamps, power and heated exterior mirrors, keyless entry, along with air conditioning. The Compass also carries a fold-flat back seat, hill-start assist, anti-lock disc brakes, electronic roll mitigation and cruise control.

Engine specifications are not out yet, but there is every possibility that it will include a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder with 158 hp (118 kW) and 191 Nm (141 lb-ft) and a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder with 172 hp (128 kW) and 223 Nm (165 lb-ft). Two diesel 2.2-liter CRD engines are also on the cards, one with 136 hp (101 kW) and the other with 163 hp (121 kW).
