2015 Ford Edge heading to L.A., will be a global model – report

by SpeedLux

A new report indicates that Ford will display the second generation of the Edge at Los Angeles Auto Show to be held next month.

In September 2012 the Blue Oval company had confirmed that the Edge will be sold in Europe as well starting with the second generation. Earlier this year in February, we got a chance to catch a blurry glimpse at the global model which could happen due to a leaked presentation which showed what to expect from the all new mid-size crossover.

Just to rewind about the model, the car will reportedly ride on the new Mondeo/ Fusion platform and in Europe it will represent the company’s biggest car of this kind as it will be larger than even the Fiesta-based EcoSport and the Focus-based Kuga. In terms of designing, reportedly it will take quite a bit cues from the Mondeo /Fusion while the engine lineup should be carried over as well.

Well more details are expected to be out when the model would be unveiled at the show next month and certainly Ford is making all efforts to make this model a global competitor and a truly global model.
