2015 Honda Civic Type R returns in new spy shots

by SpeedLux

After being official teased by Honda in the last week, the company has now released a new group of spy images that includes the 2015 Honda Civic Type R.

The company has not revealed much detail about the model as of now, but surely Honda would to release more info when the model will be shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show that would be held in September in Germany.

Under the hood, the 2015 Honda Civic Type R would be powered by a turbocharged, four-cylinder 2.0-liter gasoline engine which should be able to generate an output of a minimum 265 HP (198 kW). We have come to know that Honda is working pretty hard to increase this figure to around 300 HP (224 kW).

With some technology inputs taken from the Civic WTCC racer, the 2015 Civic Type R model will try to become the quickest front-wheel drive car to lap the tracks of the Nürburgring. Currently, the record is of the quickest front-wheel drive car belongs to the Renault Megane RS Trophy after it completed the laps of the famous German circuit in just 8 minutes and 7.97 seconds way back in June 2011.

We wish the company and the car all the very best and try to achieve this feat successfully.
