2015 Hyundai Sonata spied in action

by SpeedLux

The next generation of the Hyundai Sonata has been caught under the lens while undergoing testing on the tracks of Nürburgring in Germany.

There are speculations that the new Sonata version will be launched late next year in 2014 and as a 2015MY and also it would take lot of designing cues from the Genesis and Equus models. The prototype that can be seen in this video comes with a lot of camo and so not much was being revealed. However we already can tell that the car will come with a prominent front grille and a pair of slender headlights.

It would also come equipped with a contoured bonnet and a slightly higher roofline which means it would increase the headroom inside the cabin.

Talking about the power, there are chances that the base 4-cylinder, 2.4-liter engine could be replaced by a 1.6-liter turbo that powers the Veloster Turbo. This engine generates an output of 201 hp (105 kW) and 264 Nm (195 lb-ft) of torque which is a bit better as compared to the 2.4-liter mill which comes with 198 hp (147 kW) and 249 Nm (184 lb-ft). The 1.6 turbo engine should also be able to give better fue economy with lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
