Ford Motor has held off a planned recall of its Fiesta ST cars in China, the world’s top automobile market, because of the delays in the shipment of extra parts for repair works, state media Xinhua reported on Friday.
The recall includes 435 imported cars produced from February 15, 2013 to November 11, 2014, will begin on November 20, more than two months behind schedule, it said mentioning the company.
The vehicles will be pulled from the market because of the flaws in the engine cooling system, which could result in leaks of coolant and a danger of engine fire, it stated.
While the scale of the recall is little compared to other occurrences, the problem is the latest misstep in China by the No. 2 U.S. automaker.
In August, China’s General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine stated Ford would recall 37,734 Explorer SUVs because of guiding wheel dust cover problems.
According to the Xinhua report, the company stated owners ought to get in touch with dealerships as quickly as the recall begins to have the component replaced.
