Audi A1 sales may surpass production volume of 50,000 units, buyers on waiting list

by Ron Grant

The demand for the Audi A1 will most likely go beyond the set production volume of 50,000 units this year. During an interview, the head of marketing and sales of Audi in Europe explained that consumers might have to be in the waiting list because of the high demand.

The A1 has a sticker price of £13,145 in the United Kingdom. The car manufacturer also estimates that 90% of the buyers of the Audi A1 are new buyers of the brand. Audi foresees that the A1 will have a good appeal for those who are young and can afford who often go for a bigger ride in a range of options.

Audi will boost the volume of production come 2011. They are looking to produce around 80,000 cars and will go for 100,000 after next year. Production of the Audi A1 started last week with around 500 units rolling out each day.
