For those looking for optimum performance, 3.5 liter, EcoBoost V6 is a great option and high output versions of the engine pump out an amazing 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque.
Towing Capacity
The 2020 F-150 has a maximum towing capacity of over 6 tons, which can handle just about anything the average truck driver can throw at it.
Fuel Economy
The base V6 yields a combined 22 MPG using regular unleaded gas. The EcoBoost runs at about 23 MPG. The diesel-powered version gets 22 MPG in town and around 30 when on the highway.
All the versions get decent fuel economy for pickups. Even the 3.5-liter Ecoboost can achieve 25 MPG on the highway. The least efficient is the F-150 Raptor, which gets a paltry 16 MPG.
Safety
The F-150 has the same basic mechanics in terms of safety as previous years. That means, because it scored well on the IIHS critical crash test program, that it will deliver well under the new redesign.
Every trim comes with accident avoidance technologies, including collision warnings with automatic braking.
