5 Celebrities Known for Their Luxury Cars

Celebrity car collections have always been fun to look through. While it can certainly make us long to drive or own cars that most of us will never see in person, there’s still something enjoyable about knowing that someone out there is actually driving them. And naturally, it tends to be all the more fun when it’s a celebrity you care about or have a personal connection to.

The truth of the matter is that more celebrities seem to have noteworthy cars in their garages than not. So if you’re curious about what your favorite athlete or actor might be driving, odds are you can simply look it up and get an interesting answer! But in this post, we just want to look at some particularly noteworthy cars and collections belonging to celebrities who are known for their interest in this area.

Jerry Seinfeld

Jerry Seinfeld has to be near the top of any list regarding celebrity car enthusiasts — and not just because one of his biggest projects in recent years has been Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, in which he simply drives around chatting with comedians. Rather, it’s because Seinfeld is known for a rather extravagant collection of high-end vehicles, and Porsches in particular. In a GQ profile of Seinfeld’s Porsche collection (which includes a 1949 356/2 Gmünd, a 1964 911, and a 2000 Carrera GT prototype, among others), the actor/comedian described driving some of his classics as “the automotive equivalent” of driving a sonnet by Shakespeare or a symphony by Beethoven. That’s quite a way to look at it, but if we could get behind the wheel of his 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder, we might feel the same way.

Jay Z

As one of the most successful musicians in modern history (or really just all of history), Jay Z has amassed the sort of limitless personal wealth that inevitably leads to some extravagant luxuries. Maybe the most famous example in his case was the $4 million private island he bought for Beyonce on her birthday (which an International Business Times report indicated came only after she’d bought him a $5 million watch!). Next to that kind of birthday gift, a few fancy cars ought to be expected. And sure enough, the popular rapper has been spotted with some incredible vehicles over the years. The most notable example is a black Maybach Exelero — one of the rarest luxury vehicles of its time, and yet one we’ll actually mention again below!

Cristiano Ronaldo

Like Jay Z, soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo has had enough success to be able to afford any car he could conceivably wish for. In fact, Ronaldo is one of a handful of true star athletes in the world who’s even expanded his income streams — massively — beyond his sport. He’s had so many endorsement deals it’s hard to keep track of them; he’s essentially had a successful side career as a model; he’s even believed to have made some money in gaming, with a Poker.org list of athletes who are poker stars revealing that he has at times been an ambassador for PokerStars. In short, from the soccer field to the poker tables, this guy generates lucrative income like a machine. And among other things he’s known to have channeled some of it into his passion for high-end automobiles. Ronaldo seems to primarily be a Ferrari man, with the incredibly powerful, $2 million-plus Ferrari LaFerrari reportedly being the gem of his collection.

Birdman

We said we’d mention the Maybach Exelero again, and it happens to be in conjunction with another famous rapper! We’ve written about the ‘Maybach Exelero That Cost Birdman a Cool $8 Million’ in the past, and all these years later it still stands out as one of the most noteworthy celebrity cars we know about. But here’s the fun part: This vehicle is so rare that Birdman’s is actually the exact same car as Jay Z’s. It was sold to Jay Z a few years after Birdman initially acquired it.

Nicolas Cage

And then there’s Nicolas Cage, who may be more closely associated with wild extravagance than anyone else in Hollywood. The actor has enjoyed a number of famously over-the-top luxuries throughout his career — such as $150 million worth of dinosaur skulls, pygmy heads, and European castles, according to a CNBC write-up in 2019. Cage actually had to return the dinosaur skull to the Mongolian government (it had been stolen). But he still has some major luxury vehicles as far as we can tell — including a red Ferrari Enzo. Given his habits, we’d say stay tuned. Any time a great new concept car or rare release comes along, Cage seems like a decent bet to buy it.

These of course are not all the celebrities known for car collections or extravagant vehicles. But they’re certainly some of the most enjoyable examples for car enthusiasts.
