Two killed after car crash in Clairemont Avenue, Wisconsin

Two women were on Sunday following a multi-vehicle crash in East Clairemont Avenue in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

Officials responding to the crash at about 1:20 p.m., which took place at the intersection with University Drive. They found two vehicles that had sustained severe damage.

A woman identified as Elaine Lambrecht, 81, of Eau Claire was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another person identified as Mary A. Socha, 61, was taken to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

Other vehicles were damaged following the crash but there were no other injuries.

The crash resulted in closures of the parts at the westbound lanes of East Clairemont Avenue for at least six hours.

Eau Claire Police Department is investigating the crash.
