Two people were killed after a five-vehicle crash near a water treatment plant on Friday night in Matthews, Louisiana.

The crash took place when a truck driving south on Highway 308 crossed the center line and sideswiped a car. The truck then struck another car head-on which was driven by a 32-year-old identified as Maria Deborah Benitez-Munoz.

Other than that, the two cars following Benitez-Munoz struck the car she was driving from the back.

The driver of the truck and Benitez-Munoz were pronounced dead at the scene.

Louisiana State Police is investigating the crash.
