Two killed after car crash in Oakfield Township, Michigan

Two were killed after a two-vehicle crash on Sunday afternoon in Oakfield Township, Michigan.

The crash took place around 1 p.m. at 14 Mile Road at Wabasis Avenue.

A Jeep Liberty driven by a 17-year-old from Grand Haven crossed the centerline and went into the path of a Nissan Altima, hitting it head-on.

The female passenger in the Nissan named Carly Alcala, 17 was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Nissan driver, identified as Alcala’s boyfriend, Jomar Williams, 23, of Lansing — was taken to the hospital by Aero Med but he succumbed to his injuries there.

Their relatives and friends mourned over their loss.

The 17-year-old driver of the Jeep was admitted to the hospital with minor injuries.

Michigan State Police investigated the crash.
